Urca & Sugarloaf Mountain (Pão de Açucar)

Our Sugarloaf Rio Tour is a spin on a classic Rio de Janeiro site. We lead you through the tiny backstreets of Urca, Rio’s first village and then drop you off in time for a sunset view on top of Sugarloaf.

We start by visiting Urca, a historical neighbourhood off the tourist trail. It is a fabulous little part of town (the first place the Portuguese landed when they came to Brazil) where you have beautiful architecture from the Portuguese, German and French settlers, classic Brazilian bars overlooking the water and incredible back streets peppered with old churches alongside Guanabara Bay. Along the route, we will see the old Casino, turned Italian Fashion school, where Carmen Miranda was discovered, as well as the infamous stone wall where the locals love to have drinks in the summertime. We will end with a walk through Praia Vermelha (the red beach) en route to drop you off at Sugarloaf Mountain where you can enjoy a Sunset Happy Hour overlooking Rio. Not what you are looking for? Click here for more joint Now in Rio & Bromelia Rio tours.
